Induction
Nomination process
Nominations for induction are made by Supporting Team/Club Members*. To be a Supporting Team/Club member, the team/club must contribute annually to the operation of the 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame (See Supporting Team/Club Member).
*A nomination can be made by a non-member team/club, but it then must be accompanied by a Nomination Fee (see ADDITIONAL Nomination Fee below).
The names, letters of endorsement, and other supporting documentation for players and builders meeting the eligibility criteria for nomination are to be submitted by team/club representatives to the Board of Directors for screening and approval. The deadline for the receipt of the completed applications is 60 days prior to an Induction Ceremony. The dates of future Induction Ceremonies are announced on our website. Induction Ceremonies are scheduled at a date and location determined by the Board of Directors.
When a candidate's nomination is submitted for consideration and approval, the nominating team must ensure that the nomination is accompanied by an induction fee of $250 to partially offset the costs incurred for the induction. This fee may be paid by the nominating team or the candidate or a combination of both.
If a team nominates more than one candidate, a $250 induction fee applies to each candidate individually.
Additional Nomination Fee
If the nominating team/club is not a Supporting Team/Club Members of the 80+ HHF, a fee of $50 per nominee must accompany the nomination.
Note: This Nomination Fee is waived for Supporting Team/Club Members.
If the nominating team/club is not a Supporting Team/Club Member, and has not paid the $50 Nomination Fee, then the onus falls to the candidate to pay the Nomination Fee in addition to the Induction Fee.
